The Voice Reveals New Coaches for Season 25 with First Ever 'Double Chair'

NBC’s The Voice announces for the first time in the show’s 25 seasons that there will be a double chair coach in season 25, that’s right, a chair shared by two coaches.



According to Entertainment Tonight, country duo Dan and Shay will join The Voice as coaches for the upcoming season as a team.

Dan + Shay shared the post on Twitter and added, “SO EXCITED FOR THIS!”

Dan and Shay will join returning coach Reba McEntire, whose first season will be the upcoming 24th season airing this fall on NBC, John Legend, and Chance the Rapper.

Blake Shelton concluded his time with The Voice with season 23. He was on the first panel of Coaches in 2011, when the show premiered, he’s been there every season since.

Blake Shelton highlighted his 12 year run in his statement about leaving the show:



“I’ve been wrestling with this for a while, and I’ve decided that it’s time for me to step away from The Voice after Season 23,” Shelton said in a statement. “This show has changed my life in every way for the better, and it will always feel like home to me. It’s been a hell of a ride over these 12 years of chair turns, and I want to thank everyone at The Voice from NBC, every producer, the writers, musicians, crew and catering people; you are the best.”
