Britney Spears and Husband Sam Asghari Separate After One Year of Marriage

Britney Spears and Sam Asghari have separated after only one year of marriage.

TMZ reported the news first, but neither Spears nor Asghari has publicly confirmed the current status of their relationship.

“They’re separated and it’s best for Britney,” a source said.

The couple announced their engagement in September 2021 and had a wedding ceremony inside in June 2022.

According to Page Six:

Sam Asghari allegedly wants his estranged wife, pop superstar Britney Spears, to pay him more than what their prenup provides in order to keep her secrets following their split, Page Six has exclusively learned.

A source tells us exclusively Wednesday that the “Family Business” actor, 29, is “attempting to negotiate concessions beyond his prenup and threatening to go public with extraordinarily embarrassing information about Britney unless he gets paid.”

Spears and Asghari signed a prenuptial agreement that Page Six was told at the time was in the Grammy winner’s “favor.”

Spears’ most recent Instagram images of her and Asghari together were in July, horseback riding on a beach. Weeks before that, she posted photos and videos of them traveling abroad together.

“Their marriage has been on the rocks for months,” says a Spears insider. “There has been constant drama. It’s sad. A divorce would be devastating for Britney.”

TMZ reports:

Britney Spears and her husband, Sam Asghari have separated after a nuclear argument that involves allegations of cheating … TMZ has learned.

Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ … about a week ago, Sam confronted Britney over rumors she stepped out on him. We do not know if the rumor has any basis in fact, but we’re told Sam believed it and the 2 had a huge fight.

It is reported that Sam is now living in a place of his own. One source says that “It’s only a matter of time before Sam files for divorce.”
