A week following Garrison Brown’s funeral, his sister Madison Brown Brush, 28, conveyed a strong message about the significance of discussing mental health wellness.
She said that she didn’t think enough was being done to “bring awareness” of mental health in light of what her family had gone through.
“I wanted to get back to normalcy here, but I want to address some things first,” Madison, the eldest daughter to Janelle and Kody Brown, said in a March 18 on Instagram. “Mental health is so important and I don’t think we talk about it enough and I don’t think we do enough to bring awareness. It wasn’t bullying, it wasn’t a lack of love that Garrison had, it was mental health, and I am going to continue talking about mental health and self care until I am blue in the face.”

“Garrison used to feel like he wasn’t doing enough because he was comparing himself to things on social media, and I don’t think that it’s real and I think we need to remember that,” she said.
Madison talked about how she and her siblings are handling things and said that the sorrow of Garrison’s passing has brought the Brown family closer together.
