A post was made earlier this week on the social media site America Loves Liberty, claiming that the 68-year-old country music icon was upset with the way 34-year-old Swift behaved during McEntire’s 2024 Super Bowl performance.
“Reba McIntire [sic] talks about how disappointed she was to look up at the big screen while performing The National Anthem, only to see Taylor Swift laughing and drinking and making a mockery of the event,” the post said, before claiming that McEntire responded: “I let her have it afterward. She’s an entitled little brat.”
McEntire now refuted the assertions made by the America Loves Liberty group in an Instagram post that included a screenshot of the website and the remark, “Please don’t believe everything you see on the Internet.” This is not what I said.
“Taylor is a wonderful artist, strong role model and has done so much good for so many people and the music industry,” she stated.
The America Loves Liberty post was shared 3,300 times and had 1,600 comments since Wednesday, many of which were critical of Swift. The person who created the account also left the following response in the comments: “Oh my. Reba McEntire herself responded to our nonsense.”
The remaining remark said, “Thank you, Ma’am. We love your work. The article is as silly as the headline for a reason. It’s not supposed to be believable. Your fans were staunchly on your side long before this post.”
