Following a fight with leukemia, the 2-year-old daughter of an NFL reporter and his family passed away on Sunday.
The devastating news was posted on social media on Monday by Doug Kyed, a New England Patriots reporter for the Boston Herald, and his wife, Jen Kyed. They stated that Hallie “died peacefully in her sleep.”

The child would have turned three years old in March, but the couple revealed that she had a bone marrow transplant and that her most recent round of treatment had been unsuccessful.
“We’re completely lost and heartbroken without Hallie. Our lives will never be the same. Hallie was a special kid, and she made a positive impact on so many people she met. We were lucky to be her parents, and Olivia was fortunate to have the best baby sister.” Doug Kyed shared on Instagram.

“I don’t know how any of this works. I hope she woke up in an alternate universe with other versions of us and she lives a beautiful life. I’d give anything to have her snuggling in bed with me,” Jen continued. “She deserved the world. Miss you endlessly. We will meet in our dreams. I love you forever, love bug 💕.”

Since his daughter’s diagnosis on April 8, Kyed told the Boston Herald that he has spent over half of his nights at Boston Children’s Hospital. “My spouse and I have alternated in providing at-home care for Hallie and our 5-year-old daughter, Olivia,” Kyed disclosed to the publication.
The NFL reporter said that when information regarding Hallie’s “memorial services” became available, he and his spouse would share it.
