Khloé Kardashian is opening up and sharing never-before-seen photos of her melanoma cancer. She’s grateful and acknowledges her medical team in her Instagram post.

“Because we had to remove a tumor from my cheek, I was left with an indention,” Kardashian shared on her Instagram story.

“I am definitely not complaining because I would rather have an indention than melanoma any day,” she said, adding that she’s since received injections to help fill in the cheek.

Kardashian, 39, said that for over one year, she thought a tiny spot on her cheek was a pimple.

After the surgery, she was left with an indention on her cheek and says she waited nine months before having it filled.

“I’m just so happy that my face is finally coming back together,” Kardashian wrote alongside a series of photos showing her medical journey.

She wrote, “I look insane in these pics but I’m just so happy that my face is slowly coming back together ha! I don’t even know how else to word this.”

After getting the surgery, Kardashian shared a picture of herself wearing a bandage on her face, writing, “I know this looks crazy and pretty massive, which it was, but for all good reason. @garthmd made sure to protect the stitches and make sure everything was as flat as possible so there was no stretching of the scar, incision area, and we tried to avoid keloiding (thick, raised scar tissue) as much as possible. He’s just the best.”

“I never imagined that this tiny spec would turn into skin cancer and I can’t fathom what could have possibly happened had I not gone to the doctor to get it looked at,” she wrote in another Instagram Story. “Paying attention to our skin and any changes in our skin and our body, no matter how small, is so important.”
