Halle Berry Divorce is Finally Over after 8 Years; Actress will Pay $8000 a Month Child Support

Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez have finally finalized their divorce nearly eight years after filing their initial petitions.

Halle Berry is “relieved” and “ready to move on.”

People reports that the divorce was finalized on Aug. 23, reaching a custody agreement for their 9-year-old son, Mateo, and other financial details. Berry and Martinez were married for two years and filed for divorce in 2015.

A source close to Berry stated the obvious, telling People, “It’s been way too drawn out.”

Additionally, according to the filing, she will pay Martinez “4.3% of any income she receives above $2,000,000” and “private school tuition, uniforms, school supplies and any extracurricular activities” for Mateo.

“The public documents filed in the matter should speak for themselves. The parties wanted more clarity in regards to Maceo’s schedule and each of their respective time with their son,” Martinez’ lawyer stated. The pair will split custody. Notably, the parent who is not currently caring for the child will be entitled to one phone call per day at bedtime, which “shall not exceed fifteen minutes.”

Actress Halle Berry wants fans to know that failed relationships are pointing you toward Mr. or Ms. Right.

Berry was honored with the Career Achievement Awards, at the 4th Annual Celebration of Black Cinema & Television event on Tuesday and spoke about her musician boyfriend Van Hunt, in her acceptance speech.

“You know I finally found love this year everybody … You all have been on this painful journey with me,” Berry joked. “You watched me fail and fail and fail. And besides directing my first movie, I also found the love of my life, and I know it’s true, and this is how I know it’s true.”

“Because I failed so many times, I now know what [love] really looks like,” she continued. “And so my partner is here tonight, Van, and you have supported me.”

Halle and Van began dating in 2020, and the happy couple hasn’t looked back.

Berry gushed over her new love publicly in November 2021, telling Extra, “When you’re loved and supported, everything changes. The day looks brighter, everything looks better. Your opportunity seems limitless … That’s what happened.”
