Demi Moore has shared details about her ex-husband Bruce Willis’s condition and given guidance to other families dealing with dementia patients.
Moore, 61, has advised loved ones of dementia patients to “let go of” the person their departed loved one once was.
Moore claimed she’s learned to “take in the joy and the love” for who Willis is now, rather than lamenting how his disease has affected him, during an appearance on Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM show Radio Andy.

“What message do you have for people out there who have family members who are suffering from dementia?” Andy Cohen asked the actress, who was promoting her role in Feud: ‘Capote Vs. The Swans.’
Demi replied, “I think the most important thing I could share is just to meet them where they’re at.”
“When you let go of who they’ve been or who you think they [should be], or who even you would like them to be, you can then really stay in the present and take in the joy and the love that is present and there for all that they are, not all that they’re not.”

Adding a playful touch, Chloë Sevigny, who had joined Demi to promote the FX series Feud: Capote vs. the Swans, said, “I’m going to use that when I go home and see my mum next.” She may not be suffering from dementia, but she is really annoying.”
Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah Willis, Demi’s children from her former relationship, with Bruce Willis, have already opened up about how tough it has been to watch their father battle his disease.
