Goldberg was suspended for two weeks from ‘The View’ after saying on air that it was “not about race.” the other co-hosts of the talk show, including Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, and Ana Navarro, are reportedly furious with ABC’s decision.
According to The Daily Beast.
Navarro even shared a statement with the outlet, stating, “I love Whoopi Goldberg. I love The View. This was an incredibly unfortunate incident. Whoopi is a lifelong ally to the Jewish community. She is not an antisemite. Period. I am sad. And I have nothing else to say.”
Whoopi Goldberg is reportedly angry about her suspension from The View, and sources close to the star have claimed that she’s contemplating leaving the show completely. According to the New York Post, Whoopi believes she complied with every request and recommendation from ABC.
A source stated, “She feels ABC executives mishandled this. She followed their playbook. She went on ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’ and then apologized again on ‘The View’ the next day.”
The source also goes on to explain that the suspension feels especially hurtful: “Her ego has been hurt and she’s telling people she’s going to quit. Suspension from ‘The View’ is like getting suspended from Bravo. The bar is very low.”
It stinks like a rotten egg if you ask me. It appears to me at least that the President of ABC Kim Godwin just kicked the ball down the road to get the heat off her.
