On Monday, Philadelphia residents were overcome with emotion when veteran center Jason Kelce of the Eagles formally declared his 13-year NFL retirement.
Jason was emotional during his announcement, but brother Travis Kelce could not hold back his tears either.
“Travis Kelce emotional during Jason Kelce’s retirement press conference. A beautiful moment to see Jason’s family going through this with him. He is looking at them often throughout the speech”

At the press conference, Travis was seated with their parents, Donna and Ed, as well as Jason’s wife, Kylie.

During his speech, Jason spoke about Travis and reflected on the moment he learned he had been drafted by the Chiefs.
“And my brother receiving the call and him being drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs,” Jason said, “This time, the tears down both my father and I’s face as my brother realized his own dream.”
“I’ve been asked many times why did I choose football, what drew me to the game, and I never have an answer that gets it right,” he said.
“The best way I can explain it is what draws you to your favorite song, your favorite book. It’s what it makes you feel – the seriousness of it, the intensity of it. Stepping on the field was the most alive and free I had ever felt.”
“It took a lot of hard work and determination getting here,” said Kelce. “I have been the underdog my entire career and I mean this when I say it, I wish I still was. Few things gave me more joy than proving someone wrong.”
