Salma Hayek Will Replace Thandiwe Newton in ‘Magic Mike’s Last Dance’ After Thandiwe Newton Exit

Thandiwe Newton exited the movie Magic Mike’s Last Dance, Salma Hayek will be taking on the role in the film.

“Thandiwe Newton has made the difficult decision to step away from the production of Warner Bros. Pictures’ Magic Mike’s Last Dance to deal with family matters,” a Warners spokesperson said in a statement.

Thandiwe Newton was reportedly fired from the new Magic Mike movie after allegedly arguing with costar Channing Tatum about Will Smith walking onstage and slapping comedian Chris Rock.

Newton has denied the reports claiming she was dropped from Magic Mike 3 after a disagreement with Channing Tatum about the Oscars slap.

The argument apparently took place after the famous slap during the Oscars, according to The Sun. But it wasn’t just a little argument. The outlet says it turned into a feud that became “unimaginably vicious.”

Some crew members said they have lost $4,000 over the feud, which was sparked by a disagreement about actor Will Smith slapping Chris Rock on the Oscars stage.

One crew member said he saw Thandiwe and Channing arguing on set at Paddington, West London, where they have been photographed filming Magic Mike’s Last Dance the third movie about male strippers.

This specific crew member told a buddy: “Channing Tatum is the producer and number one on set. Thandiwe Newton is the number two-star. So 11 days into shooting and it’s all over.

It’s pretty incredible how at odds some folks are with one another over the Oscars slapping situation. But for Thandiwe and Channing, it apparently reached new heights. There are reports that Channing stormed off the set of Magic Mike’s Last Dance and drove off in a car.

Hayek has now been drafted in to replace Newton, according to Deadline.

“Magic Mike’s Last Dance” will be made exclusively for HBO Max.
