Quiche Lorraine

The absolute best thing to wake up to.

Ingredients

For the crust
1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. kosher salt
1/2 c. (1 stick) cold butter, cubed
3 tbsp. ice water




For the quiche
8 slices bacon
1 1/2 c. shredded gruyere or swiss
1 shallot, minced
6 large eggs
1 1/2 c. heavy cream
Pinch of cayenne
pinch of nutmeg
kosher salt
Freshly cracked black pepper
