President Donald Trump announced early Friday he and first lady Melania Trump tested positive for COVID-19. White House chief of staff Mark Meadows said Trump was “feeling mild symptoms” but “energetic” on Friday, hours after the announcement.
Democratic presidential nominee former Vice President Joe Biden, Jill Biden, and vice presidential nominee Sen. Kamala Harris tested negative Friday, as did Vice President Mike Pence and second lady Karen Pence.
NOTE: A negative test means only that the person was not infected at the time of testing. Because the virus’ incubation period can be up to 14 days, a negative test earlier in that time frame does not mean a person was not infected.
