People walked out of Kristen Stewart’s new movie at Cannes

Every single gaping, weird bruise in his movies, it makes my mouth open. You wanna lean in toward it,” Kristen Stewart said of her new movie ‘Crimes of the Future.’

Critics stayed for most of the duration of the film, Variety said that five people left the theater as they could not stomach what was in front of them. A New York Times reporter Kyle Buchanan saw a greater number leave. He tweeted that he counted 15 people who walked out and that “maybe walkouts are the new standing ovation.”

As the synopsis suggests, the film’s gory subject matter makes way for some pretty graphic scenes, with one also including a child’s autopsy. The scenes caused some viewers to walk out of a press screening for the film at Cannes, with Kristen now reacting to the criticism. -Yahoo Sports

Helmed by director David Cronenberg, “Crimes of the Future” is hitting theaters on June 2. Its story centers on a new kind of human species that is adaptive to a synthetic environment and whose bodies go through several transformations.
