5 people reported dead in Orlando Florida workplace shooting

Orange County Florida, five people are dead after a disgruntled employee opened fire on his former coworkers Monday morning at a business near Orlando.

The gunman was fired sometime in April, Demings says. Deputies received an emergency call around 8 a.m. on Monday reporting an active shooter at Fiamma, a business on North Forsyth Road. When deputies arrived, they found three men and one woman dead. Another man was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he later died.

Demings says the shooter shot the five people and then turned the gun on himself. He was found deceased at the scene with a handgun and a knife. Authorities are currently interviewing seven survivors.

“At this time we have no indication that this subject is a member of any subversive type of organization,” Demings says. “We have no indication that this subject is a participant in a terror-like organization.”
