House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi went on defense on Monday after a host on ‘The View’ said Pelosi had once called for Comey’s termination.

Co-host Sunny Hostin pressed Pelosi when she initially denied that she’d make such a statement.

“You yourself said that you thought that Comey’s behavior was inappropriate, his actions were inappropriate, and that he should be fired,” Hostin said.

Pelosi quickly interrupted to say

“I never said he should be fired.”

Instead, she said her reaction was that Comey couldn’t “take the heat” for his decisions on the Clinton case.

Hostin clarified that Pelosi’s past remarks were,

“he might not be in the right job.”

Pelosi continued:

“I said he couldn’t take the heat for it.”
