There are currently two armed persons in custody.
Stacey Graves, the chief of police in Kansas City, acknowledged that one person had died and suggested there could be as many as “10 to 15 victims”.

According to Graves, police arrived on the scene right away and helped the victims by performing life-saving procedures.
“We know officers ran towards danger,” she stated. “Officers were there to keep everyone safe.”
Six hundred of the more than eight hundred cops on the scene were members of the Kansas City Police Department.
Users of social media shared startling videos. In a video posted by a user, it appeared as though someone was giving a shooting victim chest compressions while another person lay close, appearing to be in pain. The sound of screams could be heard.
Children’s Mercy Kansas City spokesperson Lisa Augustine stated that the facility “is receiving patients from the rally.” She didn’t know how many or provide any information about their injuries right away.
One walk-in patient with non-life-threatening injuries and one critically injured gunshot patient were admitted to St. Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City, according to spokeswoman Laurel Gifford.
According to Jill Jensen Chadwick, the health system’s news director, one victim of the incident was receiving treatment at the University of Kansas Health System. She was unaware of the individual’s health.
“With this many casualties, it will be distributed among several hospitals to prevent overcrowding in any one emergency room,” the spokesperson stated.
