Daily Prompt: Eat, Drink, and Be Merry…
…for tomorrow we die. The world is ending tomorrow! Tell us about your last dinner — the food, your dining companions, the setting, the conversation.
Please do not let the world end before Thanksgiving Day. I’ve actually been just waiting for Halloween to come and go so the planning can begin for Thanksgiving my favorite day of the entire year. What a perfect day filled with so many aromas’ and noises. If the food is not enough to make it perfect what really takes this day over the top is the family chatter, prayer and laughter.
I can hear the small children scuffling, playing and giggling outside. Oh, I hear the football game in the distance on the television and my sisters moving about in the kitchen preparing the final touches to put the food on the table. I see and feel my family’s hands in mine as we each read aloud from our thankful lists. Finally, we get to dig into the food what a spread; turkey, ham, dressing, mashed potatoes, corn casserole, green bean casserole, homemade rolls, pecan and pumpkin pie.

Please world don’t end until the day after Thanksgiving.
Signed Sincerely,
Food and Everything Else “Mandy”
Mandy, I found your blog from the NaBloPoMo post list. I am SO with you on this one! I love Thanksgiving, the family, the food, the fellowship, the football! I. can. not. wait.
I’m glad to hear you found this post via NaBloPoMo and yes there is just no other day like Thanksgiving. I’ve been waiting for Thanksgiving for almost one year. LOL 🙂
