Chrissy Teigen suffered a miscarriage Wednesday, three days after she was hospitalized for bleeding issues.
Teigen, 34, posted a heartbreaking hospital room photo on Instagram announcing that her unborn child, a boy, had died.
On Sunday, she was admitted to the hospital after the steady bleeding she experienced turned severe. She underwent two blood transfusions, the model shared on Instagram on Monday and passed a blood clot the following day. The bleeding was a result of a “weak placenta,” she said.
“We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before,” Teigen wrote. “We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough.”
Teigen, has two children with John Legend (Luna, 4, and Miles, 2). She wrote that the couple previously “never decide on our babies’ names until the last possible moment after they’re born, just before we leave the hospital. But we, for some reason, had started to call this little guy in my belly Jack.”
“So he will always be Jack to us,” she wrote. “Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever.”
