Report: Trump Aides Organized A Twitter ‘Intervention’ For The President

White House Aides Hold a 'Twitter-vention' for President Trump

The Wall Street Journal reported Friday that aides called for an “intervention” to urge the president to use restraint on the social media platform.

Aides told Trump that his unfiltered tweets could “paint him into a corner,” politically and legally, according to the report.

At a moment when his every last move is viciously scrutinized, he needs to stop giving the Dems easy ammo.

I’m not the only one who feels this way. According to DailyMail:

Some of Trump’s aides reportedly organized an ‘intervention’ in an attempt to get the President to slow his furiously typing fingers.

Trump’s staff were reportedly worried about some of the inaccurate or unfounded claims that he has made on Twitter since becoming President, and held the intervention at some point during the past few weeks, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Specifically, his staffers were reportedly concerned about the accusation that the President made in March, in which he claimed former President Obama wiretapped Trump Tower during the 2016 election.

During the ‘Twitter-vention,’ aides reportedly explained to President Trump that certain comments, such as those made in March, on social media could ‘paint him in a corner’ both politically and legally.

However, those efforts appear to have gone unnoticed. As recently as Thursday the President took to Twitter to criticize his opponents.

Trump has absolutely made mistakes so far, and many of them stem from his use of social media. I hope moving forward he will be more strategic about the messaging he chooses to put out, but that’s not likely to happen. And That’s okay! Go ahead and support him. I do. Go ahead and defend him. I do, just don’t lie to yourself in order to defend his mistakes.
