
Legendary country music performer Toby Keith gave his whole life to entertaining his followers; a few weeks prior to his passing, he gave his farewell performance to a devoted audience.
The family of the country artist revealed on Tuesday that he passed away on Monday night at the age of 62. He was diagnosed with stomach cancer in the fall of 2021.
“Toby Keith passed peacefully last night on Feb. 5 surrounded by his family, the statement read. “He fought his fight with grace and courage.”
“Please respect the privacy of his family at this time,” the message said.

Keith made sure to continue performing and engaging audiences to the very end, despite his illness.

When Toby Keith returned to the stage at the People’s Choice Country Awards in September of 2023, he delivered one of the most talked-about performances of his life and career. Watch the video below.
The song “Don’t Let the Old Man In,” which Keith had initially written for Clint Eastwood’s 2018 movie The Mule, was then performed in a melancholic fashion by Keith.
Keith is survived by his wife of 40 years, Tricia Lucus, and their daughters Shelley and Krystal, and son Stelen.
