A woman who had given birth two months ago made a final call to the father of her children after being shot in the head during the Dayton massacre.

Lois Oglesby, who went by Lola, was among the nine victims shot dead when gunman Connor Betts opened fire on Sunday at 1am.

The 27-year-old’s partner Daryl Lee posted on Facebook that she FaceTimed him just moments after taking a bullet to the head.

‘She FaceTimed me and said ‘Babe I just got shot in my head, I need to get to my kids,’ he recalled.

‘Like that’s strong as f*** to hold off to call me.

‘She was letting me know she loved me and to take care of these kids… I got you babe. I can’t stop crying.’

Oglesby leaves behind her newborn daughter Reign and six-year-old daughter Hannah.

She was in nursing school and had been looking forward to a career that would make the most of her love for children, her cousin Derasha Merrett said.

Merrett told the Dayton Daily News that she was up feeding her own newborn when a friend called her at 3am on Sunday to tell her, through sobs, that Oglesby had died in the Dayton shooting.

‘She was a wonderful mother, a wonderful person,’ Merrett said. ‘I have cried so much, I can’t cry anymore.’
