SNL’s Season Finale Holds A Funeral For Trump Presidency

SNL’s cold opening for last night’s episode was considered a “funeral” for Trump’s presidency for many on the left. They legitimately believe his time as POTUS is nearly through.

For the final episode of this season of Saturday Night Live, they end it the way they started – with a rendition of Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah. However, instead of it being Kate McKinnon as Hillary Clinton, this mourning tune was sung by Alec Baldwin as President Trump.

As he sings, the entire SNL team comes out to join him, with all your favorite characters – Kellyanne Conway, Ivanka Trump, Melania Trump, Melissa McCarthy as Sean Spicer, the Grim Reaper as Steve Bannon.

It’s a fitting end to one of the most successful seasons of SNL’s many decades of production – and a most appropriate funeral march for President Trump’s crumbling administration.

“I’m not giving up because I didn’t do anything wrong.”

Who said he was giving up, SNL?

SNL did Cohen’s Hallelujah as a cold open before…. as a tribute to Hillary Clinton when she lost. Can you spot the difference?
