Rosie O’Donnell offered to pay Republican Senators 2 million each if they voted against the tax bill

The comedian promised to give a cool $2 million a piece to Sens. Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) if they voted against the reforms.

“no s–t,” she said in a tweet

“2 million

cash

each,” her tweet continued.

O’Donnell followed up her first tweet with a second tailored for Collins —

“susan — 2 million dollars cash call if u want to negotiate,”

Collins and Flake both voted for the bill, which was passed in the Senate early Wednesday.

Offering money to public officials try to influence official acts is illegal, which can be punishable with a fine and/or imprisonment.

The FBI neither confirmed nor denied any investigations.

On Wednesday, in the wake of the backlash, O’Donnell retweeted several people defending her comments as either comical or empty headed in nature.
