Legend Rita Moreno, wore the same dress she wore to the #Oscars in 1962.
The star, who celebrated her 86th birthday in December, recycled the dress 56 years after she wore it to the 1962 Oscars, where she won Best Supporting Actress for her role as Anita in West Side Story. And this time she made one major modification to the neckline turning it into a strapless design with back velvet gloves.
“This is the gown I wore in 1962 when I won my Oscar. This was made in the Philippines,” she shared on the red carpet of the design.
Wait till you see what I'm wearing!!! https://t.co/X9oem3aPdO

Moreno, who’s presenting at the 90th Annual Academy Awards ceremony, told Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet that the dress was made from a obi sash from the Philippines. Obi sashes are traditional garb for Japanese women that accompany their kimonos. Moreno noted that her skirt is one piece of fabric.
“I would think that it would tarnish,” Moreno said of the dress’ longevity. “It’s been hanging in my closet.”
