President Trump Signs $1.3T Spending Bill

“There are a lot of things that I’m unhappy about in this bill,” the president said

President Donald Trump says he signed the massive spending bill needed to avert a government shutdown Friday after casting doubt on whether he would do so just hours before the shutdown deadline.

Trump had said he was “considering” a veto over concerns about a program protecting young “Dreamer” immigrants that he moved to end and money for his promised border wall.

“As a matter of national security, I’ve signed this omnibus budget bill,” he said.

“There are a lot of things that I’m unhappy about in this bill,” he continued, but warned Congress, “I will never sign another bill like this again. I’m not going to do it again. Nobody read it.”
