President Trump Serves Fast Food to College Football Champions Clemson Tigers
Clemson, led by head coach Dabo Swinney, won their second national championship in three seasons on Jan. 7 by blowing out the top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide 44-16 in Santa Clara, Calif. With the win, Clemson completed the first 15-0 colege football season since the 1897 Penn Quakers.
What do you feed a pack of college champion Clemson Tigers? President Trump opted for Big Macs, Quarter Pounders and other fast-food favorites. ‘We have everything that I like, that you like,’ he told players to laughter. ‘And I know no matter what we did, there’s nothing that you could have that’s better than that.’
Trump paid for the fast-food feast himself rather than postpone the event because White House caterers aren’t at work during a partial government shutdown.
‘We ordered American fast food. Paid for by me. Lots of hamburgers, lots of pizza, I think they’d like it better than anything we could give,’ Trump told reporters as he arrived at the White House.
‘We have some very large people that like eating, so I think we’re gonna have a little fun.’

Great being with the National Champion Clemson Tigers last night at the White House. Because of the Shutdown I served them massive amounts of Fast Food (I paid), over 1000 hamburgers etc. Within one hour, it was all gone. Great guys and big eaters!

The players seem to enjoy the food. One player loudly says that the food is “awesome.”
