Imagine my surprise when I read this story – according to this, feminist model Emily Ratajkowski (just to give you an idea of where she stands politically – she was a big-time Bernie Sanders supporter) encountered an unnamed New York Times reporter covering a New York Fashion Week party for calling Melania Trump a “hooker.”
But rather than add to the slut shaming and woman belittling, Ratajkowski instead tweeted about it and shamed the individual for it – Good for her!
Sat next to a journalist from the NYT last night who told me "Melania is a hooker." Whatever your politics it's crucial to call this out for

what it is: slut shaming. I don't care about her nudes or sexual history and no one should.

Gender specific attacks are disgusting sexist bullshit.

I have to give Emily credit, she put aside petty politics and stood up for a woman that admittedly probably doesn’t need to be defended. But it speaks more to Emily’s own integrity and character that she was willing to do that.
It is with 100% sincerity that I say: kudos to Emily Ratajkowski! More of this, please!
Melania Trump had her own thoughts on the matter as well.
Applause to all women around the world who speak up, stand up and support other women! @emrata #PowerOfEveryWoman #PowerOfTheFirstLady

As for Jacob Bernsein, yeah he apologized, but I doubt there will be anything else on his accountability.
3. My editors have made it clear my behavior was not in keeping with the standards of the Times, and I agree.

4. My mistake, referring to unfounded rumors, shouldn’t reflect on anyone else and I apologize profusely.
