Easy classic Goulash made in one pot with ground beef, onions, corn, and elbow macaroni in a perfectly seasoned tomato sauce, ready in under 45 minutes!
This was one of my favorite recipes growing up. My Mom actually made two different Goulashes one with elbow macaroni and the other without any pasta at all. I like both equally, I’ll share the recipe without pasta later.
2 pounds ground beef (I use 88%)
1 yellow onion chopped
1 green bell pepper chopped (optional)
3 cups water
29 ounces tomato sauce
29 ounces diced tomatoes
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 can corn (drained)
1 to 2 teaspoon garlic (to your taste)
2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon kosher salt
8 ounces elbow macaroni (uncooked)
1. Add the ground beef, onions, bell peppers, and seasonings to a large soup pan or dutch oven on medium-high heat until it’s done.
2. Drain the fat then add in the remaining ingredients except for the macaroni and corn, bring to a boil then reduce to low heat, and simmer covered for about 15 minutes.
3. Add in the macaroni and corn, mix well then cover and simmer an additional 20 minutes, stirring occasionally before serving
