- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/3 cup cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 4 large egg yolks
- 2 1/2 cups whole milk
- 3 Tbsp unsalted butter
- 3 oz bittersweet chocolate chips or chopped chocolate (1/2 cup)
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups heavy cream
- 3 Tbsp granulated sugar
