Former Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) claimed Tuesday that “the damage the news media is doing to the United States is despicable” while calling to close the White House press briefing room.
“I am personally offended by the American news media,” Gingrich told Politico. “I think it is destructive and disgusting. It is a danger to the country right now.”
Gingrich reiterated his call for President Trump to “close down the White House press briefing room” and let “the American people” question White House press secretary Sean Spicer.
He added that closing the press briefing room would show that “the media is a corrupt institution and [Trump] is tired of being harassed by people whose only interest is making him look bad.”
Trump suggested last week that he might cancel “all future ‘press briefings’” in the name of accuracy.
…Maybe the best thing to do would be to cancel all future "press briefings" and hand out written responses for the sake of accuracy???

Yes, Yes! Please do shut it down!
Trump then suggested in an interview with Fox News that he might end White House press briefings unless he performs them himself every two weeks. “We don’t have press conferences, we just don’t have them, unless I have them every two weeks and I do them myself,” he said. “I think it’s a good idea.”
