Trump launches 'From the desk of Donald J. Trump'

As Facebook decides whether to lift its ban on Donald Trump, the former president unveiled a new website Tuesday designed to communicate with his followers without direct interaction.

The site “From the desk of Donald J. Trump” features statements Trump has made dating back to March of this year.

The site also includes a camera feature that Trump can use to make video statements.

“Straight from the Desk of Donald J. Trump,” has a 30-second video that includes references to his banning from social media.

Trump spokesman Jason Miller said on Twitter that the new website is “a great resource to find his latest statements and highlights from his first term in office,” but added “this is not a new social media platform. We’ll have additional information coming on that front in the very near future.”

Facebook’s Oversight Board will announce its decision on the case weighing whether to permanently ban or reinstate former President Trump’s account on Wednesday.

The board tweeted the update on Monday, after seemingly delaying the decision from its expected timeline.

The decision will be announced on the Oversight Board website on Wednesday around 9 a.m., the board tweeted.
