First lady Melania Trump breaks her silence on Capitol riot "I am disappointed and disheartened with what happened last week" 1

On Monday, First Lady Melania Trump spoke out for the first time, stating that she was “disappointed and disheartened” by the violent attack on the U.S. Capitol
last week and called for healing.

“Make no mistake about it, I absolutely condemn the violence that has occurred on our Nation’s Capitol. Violence is never acceptable,” she said in a statement released by the White House.

“I implore people to stop the violence, never make assumptions based on the color of a person’s skin, or use differing political ideologies as a basis for aggression and viciousness. We must listen to one another, focus on what unites us, and rise above what divides us.”

First Lady Melania’s statement is not without stirring controversy after coming out with a letter to the nation in which she painted herself as a victim and condemned the attack at the U.S. Capitol, saying that she was “disheartened” to see such a tragic event take place during President Donald Trump’s reign.
