In an attempt to refute Judge Engoron’s conclusion that he lied about his wealth while building the real estate enterprise that propelled him to fame and the presidency, Donald Trump has filed an appeal of his $454 million New York civil fraud judgment.

Attorneys for the former president filed notices of appeal on Monday, requesting that the state’s intermediate appeals court reverse the astronomical penalty.

In the case, Democratic attorney James charged Trump with falsifying financial records to banks, allegedly overstating his net worth by as much as $3.6 billion. Trump has charged James and Engoron with being biased against him politically.

Engoron’s decision barred Trump from running a corporation in New York or seeking loans with banks chartered or registered in the state for three years.

The judge’s decision may be overturned by the appeals court, which is formally known as the Appellate Division, First Department, throughout an appeals procedure that could take up to a year.

If the astronomical charge is sustained, Trump will also have to pay extra interest. Since Engoron filed judgment, the clock has been ticking upward every day.

Using X, the old name for Twitter, New York Attorney Letitia James (D) has been teasing the former president by sharing the updated amount every day.

Letitia has no problem showing her bias and contempt toward the former president. She’s out for blood, it seems. So unprofessional!
