Rhode Island Gets a Rare Visit from Country Legend and the audience got a whole lot more.

Fans attending the Newport Folk Festival in Newport, Rhode Island on Saturday received a superstar-sized surprise when Dolly Parton made an unannounced appearance during the Highwomen’s set.

The new supergroup (comprised of Brandi Carlile, Maren Morris, Natalie Hemby and Amanda Shires) were in the midst of their first live performance, welcoming an array of special guests including Sheryl Crow, Jade Bird, Jason Isbell and Linda Perry — and capped things off when Parton joined them onstage.

As CMT reports, the new supergroup’s performance was shrouded in mystery, with the festival schedule listing “The Collaboration” along with four Venus female symbols.

Following the performance, Dolly celebrated the moment on Twitter, writing, “I love surprises!”
