Philando Castile Shooting; Officer Yanez Acquitted

Minnesota police officer Jeronimo Yanez has been dismissed as a police officer after he was acquitted of manslaughter in the shooting death of black motorist Philando Castile.

The city of St. Anthony said Friday afternoon that the public “will be best served” if Yanez no longer works for the city.

Authorities have released dashcam footage of the traffic stop in which Minnesota police officer Jeronimo Yanez fatally shot black motorist Philando Castile.

The squad-car video, which filmed the encounter between Yanez and Castile, shows the officer firing seven gunshots at the motorist during a traffic stop last July.

The graphic footage is evidence from the trial and shows the shooting itself — unlike the Facebook live video that was filmed by Castile’s girlfriend Diamond Reynolds in the aftermath of the shooting.

I think it is safe to say this dash cam video speaks for itself as to whether this was a justified shooting or not. — NOT —

When will a jury EVER hold a police officer responsible for their injustices? This was clearly an unjustified shooting. If you say otherwise you are simply blinded by the uniform and badge as was this jury in this case.
