Fani Willis, the district attorney for Fulton County, is defending her career and her professional reputation against a codefendant of former President Donald Trump who is attempting to disqualify her.

The Georgia case revolves around charges that Mr. Trump engaged in a “criminal enterprise” and “unlawfully conspired” to rig the election results.

False allegations of election fraud and solicitation of an oath breach are among the other counts.

Trump refutes every accusation made against him.

Nathan Wade and Fani Willis, the district attorney for Fulton County, have stated previously that their romance began only after she hired him in the latter part of 2021.

In court on Thursday Mr Wade testified that his romantic relationship with Ms Willis began in “around March” of 2022.

District attorney Fani Willis (D) of Fulton County, Georgia, has a long-standing acquaintance who testified on Thursday that Willis started a “romantic” relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade in 2019—three years before Wade and Willis claimed to have started dating.

“You have no doubt that their romantic relationship was in effect from 2019 until the last time you spoke with her?” defense lawyer Ashleigh Merchant asked.

“No doubt,” Yeartie replied.

Judge Scott McAfee has said he could disqualify Ms Willis from the case if evidence supports the claims.

He has scheduled the hearing for this Friday as well. According to Judge McAfee, the examination will center on several issues, including the start date of Ms. Willis and Mr. Wade’s connection, whether it is ongoing, and if there was ever a financial conflict of interest.
