Chocolate Peppermint Frosted Cookies


1 cup butter, softened
1 ½ cups sugar
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
2 cups AP flour
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder (I used Hershey’s DARK)
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon Salt
10 ounce bag semi sweet chocolate chips
Peppermint Frosting
½ cup butter, softened
pinch of salt
2 ½ cups powdered sugar
½ teaspoon peppermint extract
2 tablespoons milk
1 drop pink food coloring
6 Candy Canes, finely crushed (I used the food processor for this)
