BuzzFeed: The McDonald’s Logo Symbolizes A Mother’s Breasts 1

According to BuzzFeed, the Golden Arches stand for more than the “M” in McDonald’s. Apparently, when everyone thought about revamping the logo in the 1960s, a psychologist argued that the company keep the logo, because it resembled a mother’s breasts and therefore made us attracted to it. Because a mother’s breasts = nourishment. No, this is not made up! Louis Cheskin, the design consultant and psychologist at the time, actually made that argument.

It should be noted that the logo wasn’t originally designed to symbolize a mother’s breasts.  This is just something that a weirdo psychologist said in the ’60s. Although, he won the argument. McDonald’s ultimately kept the logo.

Well, good to know, now I’ve heard it all…
