Ashley Judd makes first public appearance since shattering leg accident in Congo

Hollywood movie star Ashley Judd was pictured walking without any crutches at a public event six months since shattering her leg in four places while traveling in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The Double Jeopardy, 53, still needed to use a heavy brace on her leg.

Ashley Judd posted photos of herself to her Instagram while at Feway Park in Boston on Wednesday without crutches as she continues to recover after she shattered her leg while in the Congo earlier this year. She was accompanied by her Dad Michael Ciminella to see the Red Sox play baseball.

In her Instagram caption, she said it was ‘so refreshing to take a summer evening’s pause’ from the troubles of the world.

“It was so refreshing to take a summer evening’s pause from the troubles of the word to engage in #americaspasttime at the iconic and nostalgic @fenwaypark to see the @redsox play #baseball,” she captioned the two photos and a video of her giving a panoramic view of the legendary stadium.

Since Judd’s accident when she shattered her leg, this was her first public appearance.

Since the accident, Judd gave a promising update to her fans back in August.

Following a lengthy rehabilitation – which she documented on social media – the 53-year-old announced that she could finally walk on her own again.
