Anne Heche's Son Homer Shares Tribute for His Mother: 'Rest In Peace Mom, I Love You'

Following her car accident, Anne Heche was removed from life support and declared brain dead on Friday. Her 20-year-old son, Homer, shared an emotional statement with People on Friday.

“My brother Atlas and I lost our Mom,” he says in a statement shared with PEOPLE. “After six days of almost unbelievable emotional swings, I am left with a deep, wordless sadness. Hopefully my mom is free from pain and beginning to explore what I like to imagine as her eternal freedom.”

Homer then shares his appreciation for those who have sent love their way.

“Over those six days, thousands of friends, family, and fans made their hearts known to me,” he continued. “I am grateful for their love, as I am for the support of my Dad, Coley, and my stepmom Alexi who continue to be my rock during this time.”

“Rest In Peace Mom, I love you,” he added.

In the wake of the Seven Days Seven Nights star’s death, a resurfaced video interview from 2017 has been circling around, where Heche revealed what she wanted people to remember about her after she died.

In the clip, Heche said that she would want people to say “that I’ve made my children happy. And gave them a life that they love,” as Parade reported.
